Travel Itinerary
The Grand Palace and Bangkok Temple Tour
Around 8 am, our tour guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel. We’ll give you a brief information about the tour before transferring you into the heart of Bangkok.
Our first journey starts at Wat Pho, a temple which is known by foreigners as the Reclining Buddha Temple. This temple is regarded as the first university of Thailand, and houses more than one thousand of stone inscriptions, containing a number of teachings, relating to Buddhism, traditional yoga massage, and traditional Thai medicine. These stone inscriptions have also been chosen to be part of UNESCO’s Memory of the World.
Wat Pho also enshrines the most beautiful gilded reclining Buddha image that measures 46 meters long, and is home to the Four Great Stupas, which represents the first four kings of the Rattanakosin era.
Then we transfer you to the Grand Palace, the official residence of the King of Thailand. King Rama I built this palace to be his residence in the same year that he founded the city of Bangkok. After 250 years, the royal family still actively uses this palace as a center of important royal ceremonies and state functions.
Wat Phra Kaew, which situated inside the palace, is the heart of the Thai culture and the most important and sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand. The Emerald Buddha is enshrined inside the ordination hall of this temple.
Before arriving at our final destination, we will drive through the entrance of Bangkok’s Chinatown, one of the liveliest part of Bangkok. Then we visit Wat Traimit, home to the invaluable Gold Buddha image, the world’s largest solid gold statue, which weighs 5.5 tonnes and cast in the 13th century or more than 700 years ago.
Then our guide will transfer you to your hotel in Bangkok.
