Bangkok, the City of Angels
A memorable day trip to Bangkok’s historic highlights starts at the Reclining Buddha Temple (Wat Pho,) a school of the traditional Thai massage. Then we tour the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, where the Emerald Buddha is enshrined. After that, we head to Wat Traimit, home to the Gold Buddha, the world’s largest solid gold statue, cast in the 13th century or more than 700 years ago. Then, after lunch, we embark a cruise converted from rice barge and a long-tail boat through the tributary of the Chao Phraya River.
The Kingdom of Ayutthaya
We start with a trip to the Ancient Kingdom of Ayutthaya (14th to 18th century). This is a UNESCO World Heritage City and once the most populous and impressive city in the world. Our today’s visit includes all the highlights of Ayutthaya such as Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, and Wat Mahathat, where the head of a sandstone Buddha entangled in tree roots. Return to Bangkok by a river cruise, enjoying a delicious buffet lunch with the view of the enchanting Chao Phraya River. The trip ends after a visit to Asiatique the Riverfront.
Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
Leave from Bangkok for a visit to the most authentic market on a railway, known as the Umbrella Pull-down Market (the Railway Market). Then travel to the notable floating market of Damnoen Saduak, located 90 km in the west of Bangkok. Once we arrive, we’ll board a traditional boat to explore the Damnoen Saduak canal and its floating market, which offers a variety of local products, including Thai snacks, desserts, and handicraft items. We’ll also try and taste sweet coconut sugar juice from a nearby coconut sugar farm.
Bangkok Shopping
Travel to your favorite shopping malls in Pathumwan. We’ll visit CentralWorld, one of the largest lifestyle shopping destinations on Earth, with a total area size of 830,000 square meters. This mega-shopping complex offers everything from brand names to stationeries. Then we continue to Pratunam, a largest clothing market in Thailand, where we’ll enjoy bargain shopping at the Platinum Fashion Mall, where there are thousands of fashion stores, selling both retail and wholesale clothing products.
