Overview

A two-day join-in Kanchanaburi tour with an overnight stay at River Kwai Jungle Rafts, combining the Bridge over the River Kwai, the Death Railway, a long-tail boat transfer, and the Hellfire Pass Memorial.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1 Hellfire Pass Memorial & River Kwai Jungle Rafts

Meet and greet at your hotel around 6:00 to 6:30 am before departing Bangkok for Kanchanaburi.

Upon arrival, visit several of the province's most important World War II sites, including Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, and the historic Bridge over the River Khwae.

Continue to a local pier in Sai Yok and switch to a long-tail boat, cruising through a limestone canyon landscape to River Kwai Jungle Rafts. After check-in, enjoy lunch at the floating resort.

River Kwai Jungle Rafts sits directly on the fast-flowing Khwae River and is styled after traditional Mon houses. The stay is part of the experience: there is no electricity, and the resort uses kerosene lamps at night to preserve its eco-friendly river setting.

In the afternoon, travel by long-tail boat to the Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum, dedicated to those who suffered and died during the construction of the wartime railway. Return to the resort by boat for dinner, followed by a traditional Mon dance performance in the evening.

Day 2 Mon Village & the Death Railway

Enjoy breakfast in the riverside setting before either relaxing a little longer at the resort or walking together to a nearby Mon village and temple.

An optional elephant ride is available but not included.

Check out around 11:00 am, return by long-tail boat to the pier, and continue by coach or minibus to the historic railway.

Board the train for a scenic ride to Krasae Cave and the famous wooden viaduct on the Death Railway.

After the train ride, return to the coach and continue back to Bangkok, arriving at your hotel around 6:00 pm.
