Overview

A three-day join-in Kanchanaburi tour with two nights at River Kwai Jungle Rafts, combining historic wartime landmarks with a slower second day to relax by the river and experience Mon village life.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1 Hellfire Pass Memorial & River Kwai Jungle Rafts

Meet and greet at your hotel around 6:00 to 6:30 am before departing Bangkok for Kanchanaburi.

Upon arrival, visit key World War II landmarks, including Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, and the historic Bridge over the River Khwae.

Continue to a local pier in Sai Yok and board a long-tail boat through a scenic limestone canyon stretch to River Kwai Jungle Rafts. Check in and enjoy lunch at the floating resort.

River Kwai Jungle Rafts floats directly on the Khwae River and follows a Mon-style eco concept. There is no electricity at the resort, and evenings are lit by kerosene lamps, preserving the atmosphere of a true riverside hideaway.

In the afternoon, head out again by long-tail boat for the Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum, one of the most important commemorative sites linked to the wartime railway. Return to the resort for dinner, followed by a traditional Mon dance performance.

Day 2 Mon Village & Time at Leisure

After breakfast, walk together to a nearby Mon village and local temple around 8:30 am.

An optional elephant trekking program is available but not included.

The rest of the day is free for you to relax and enjoy the riverside surroundings. You may also experience a river jump, floating back along the Khwae River with a life jacket.

Day 3 Death Railway & Return to Bangkok

Check out from the floating resort around 11:00 am and return by long-tail boat to the pier, where the coach or minibus will continue the journey.

Travel onward to the historic railway and board the train for a ride to Krasae Cave and the famous wooden viaduct on the Death Railway.

After the train journey, continue by coach back to Bangkok, arriving at your hotel around 6:00 pm.
